Taurus Full Moon on All Hallow’s Eve
Taurus Full Moon on All Hallow’s Eve
Sometimes we just have to stop.
And it isn’t enough to stop our bodies if our minds are still running amok.
The earthy Taurus moon, lit up like a spirit lantern, isn’t interested in our debates or our dramas or any of the monkey business pounding our frenzied minds. This moon asks us to move directly into our body and listen there.
The Taurus moon provides nourishment through the fragrance of the wet leaves blanketing the ground.
It offers us the calls of the Great Horned Owl for his mate, echoing through the dark.
It draws our attention to the light bouncing off the surface of the rain puddle, reflecting space.
The Taurus moon touches the world gently, put its feet upon the ground like a doe wandering
into the evening.
And it listens with its inner ear, hears the melody of the common chickadee and knows it’s communing with more than bird.
Taurus offers itself to us like a great cosmic yogi, moving serenely and with almost tangible stillness through our weary bones.
It is the breath, remembering itself.
So this year, on All Hallow’s Eve, a time when the veils between the worlds are open wide, maybe consider honoring this sacred time by engaging your entire body as well as your soul.
Take a breath.
Again.
A breath so deep that you begin to feel yourself in your body.
Again.
Breathe.
Right here in this breath you are fully alive and safe.
When we remember the deep peace at the core of our Selves, the place spoken of by every saint who has walked this earth . . . when we enter into that sacred quiet, we are home.
If we are to bring even a little bit of grace into the next few weeks, we must quiet our inner tides.
So whatever it takes to become quiet: making a stew and some corn bread; walking under the trees knowing they are supporting your path deep below you as they continue to nurture the air you breathe; caressing your dog, your cat, with your full attention directed to that furry heart; lifting your face to the clouds and listening for the travelers—geese, swans, hawks, hummingbirds, sparrows and bluebirds. Taurus draws our attention to the natural world and reminds us that we are kindred to all that lives, woven indelibly each into the other.
May all Being know peace and love and kindness.

Be humble for you are made of earth.
Be noble for you are made of stars.

Give yourself completely to the act of listening.
Beyond the sounds there is something greater:
a sacredness that cannot be understood through thought.
~ Eckhart Tolle
