Virgo Full Moon & Chiron into Aries
Virgo Full Moon & Chiron into Aries
Chiron moves to Aries
2:08 AM MST
Monday, February 18th
Very early Monday morning, the wounded healer, Chiron, shifted into Aries after spending the last 9 years in Pisces. Over the course of the next 8 years, this shift will bring us all sorts of new ways to engage, both individually and collectively, with ancient wounding around anger, violence, sexuality and our sense of what we stand for now. This portal opened for a few months last summer, introduced itself, and then closed again. But this week we are entering fully into this energy field and will find it impossible not to pay closer attention. This is a monumental shift.

As January began, I wrote you to say that I had a feeling 2019 was going to feel a lot like a carnival. I chose that word carefully because I wanted to make the point that this is a year when just about anything can happen; a year when you might feel—simultaneously—terrified, puzzled, (wryly) amused, and sometimes even liberated (if you can let go of old thought patterns).
This is a year when everything is in flux. And as planets continue to shift, your sense of where and how to focus will evolve.
Tuesday morning the moon will be full in Virgo and you’ll feel an upswell of your desire to make a difference, to participate in the healing of the world. Hopefully, you’ll also sense the importance of keeping yourself healthy so that you have the energy and sense of well-being necessary to sustain your efforts.
When Virgo is working from its highest note, it doesn’t call attention to itself. This is energy that carries on without a need for an ego boost. It simply wants to find the holes in the patterns and mend them so that all will be well.
As it tracks the movement through our days, Virgo sees things with precision. It doesn’t miss a thing. As it enriches our awareness of often over-looked details, it seems particularly fascinated with the mechanics of language. Never in a hurry, Virgo would so much rather we stop and think a minute before we blurt. Virgo would have us choose our words carefully because it understands that each is a link to the next, and that the sequence of our words create thoughts which then become a direct path into consciousness. So as we craft our perceptions into language, we are uploading a particular band width of energy into universal consciousness.
A side note: I try to keep these columns brief so that you can gather enough information to help you take a deep breath, but I don’t attempt to explain all the complexities of the cosmic weather patterns shifting our perceptions now. If you’d like a deeper look at how you’re being affected, please drop me a note. If it’s been over a year since your last reading, you may want to check back in with a transit reading, or explore the goddess archetypes in your chart. Maybe you're ready for a relationship chart to be read, or want to send the gift of a first-time birth chart reading to a friend. And for the sheer sake of the fun of it all, the astro-cartography readings explore the ley lines of your unique energy pattern as it engages in different locations around the planet.
As I listen to the stories of my family and friends and clients, I am reminded daily of how poignantly most of us are looking for a way to help the world. This Virgo moon suggests we listen for the shaky ground in our minds that thinks it needs to be “sure” about how things are going to play themselves out and, instead, create for ourselves a new language base so we can witness the pitfalls in our thoughts; we must stop processing thoughts as if nothing had changed. Everything has changed. And will continue to do so. Virgo would have us find the worried voices in our heads and cradle them like a scared child held in the embrace of the wiser, more mature inner voice that knows so very much is still in process. Nothing is certain. And knowledge is spherical.

A beautiful question shapes a beautiful mind.
And so the ability to ask beautiful questions,
often in very unbeautiful moments
is one of the great disciplines of a human life.
